Preserving the harvest

While I was at Broadview Ranch this week, I picked about 12 pounds of lemon cucumbers. I posted a picture of this harvest here.  And since it is impossible to eat 12 pounds of cucumbers, I decided to preserve them, leading to this:

That’s right: I made 9 quarts and 6 pints of bread and butter pickles. Unfortunately, you can’t eat pickles right away. You have to let them sit for a month or so before they taste right. So no review right now but I can’t wait to try them.

More card news to come next week and a news about a few other creative endeavors. But this week, my nieces are in town and I am enjoying time with them.  Today, we have already gone to the farmer’s market and to get breakfast tacos. And now, we are going to the park! So exciting!
