The TEDPrize is a fascinating thing. They give someone a check for $100,000 to make their one wish for the world come true. This year’s winner, the street artist JR, set up a project called Inside Out. Basically you upload your self-portrait, they send you a posterized version and you paste it somewhere. I think there is an exceptional beauty to it. He did a series titled Women Are Heroes where he took beautiful portraits of women in areas of conflict around the world. Then he made gigantic posters and pasted them on walls, train cars, streets, steps, you name it. He also made a documentary that came out last year and I cannot wait to see it. I love when my passions intersect- empowering women and art. You can watch the English trailer for the documentary below. I have to say, this year’s TedPrize was well-earned.
